Welcome
Welcome and thank you for visiting this website and blog. The purpose of this blog is to focus on issues about elderly parents suffering from Alzheimer or other Dementia and their caretakers. Many times the caretakers are adult family members with jobs and families of their own. This is a major issue with the baby boomer generation.
Author, Charlotte Keys in January 2018 published a book on this issue based on her research and own experiences caring for her mother suffering from Dementia. Her book is entitled: Thirty Essential Tips to start managing the Alzheimer’s or other dementia, Your Parent, and Yourself.
In this blog she will discuss and elaborate on the issues from her book. For example she will discuss:
• Paying attention to the Signs of Alzheimer and other Dementia
• How to education yourself about Alzheimer
• How to seek a medical diagnosis and find new treatments
• How to decide who should serve as the caretaker
• How to use technology to assist your parent
• How to help your parent maintain his or her home
• How to help your parent maintain his or her social contacts
I trust the information presented and discussed will assist you. Enjoy and give us your feedback.
